Wear a Mask Pledge

About The Challenge Masks guard against COVID-19 transmission and save lives:

Some people might still be confused about the necessity of wearing a mask to guard against COVID-19, but there is now a consensus that masks play an essential role in saving lives.

Studies show that wearing masks significantly reduces the risk of transmitting the coronavirus to others and greatly reduces its spread. Why? People can still pass COVID-19 to others and not know it - even if they are asymptomatic or manifest only a mild form of the disease. Don’t pass the disease to others who may be much more vulnerable than you. Stop the Spread, Wear a Mask!

What’s more? Slowing the spread of COVID-19 will help doctors, nurses, and frontline medical workers by preventing hospitals and clinics from being overwhelmed by patients.

We now know about the three Ws: wear a mask, wash your hands, and watch your distance. These are all health measures we can take to slow down the spread and keep our friends and family out of harm’s way. We are launching this pledge to encourage everyone to wear a mask because medical experts say wearing a mask is the most important measure to save lives during COVID-19.

This virus is still new to us, and there is still much to learn. It is important to keep yourself and others safe and healthy until we can develop effective solutions, treatments, and vaccines. Wearing a mask cannot protect you from COVID-19 100% of the time, but it is a simple and efficient measure you can take, primarily for the safety of those around you.

Protect those you love. Show respect for your community. Take the “I Wear A Mask Pledge” today, and join World Merit!
